UNION of HEAVEN & EARTH: The Crucifixion (2025)
What possible relevance is the coniunctio today?
I recently wrote a response to Wolfgang Giegerich’s monograph Coniunctio where I showed that Giegerich actively denies soul as futural i.e., as bringing us hints of the unknown future through oracle, augury, dream, or vision. In this essay I show how, in his blanket denial, Giegerich is unavailable for any exploration of the unheard-of ontological transformation in the logic of the world that C. G. Jung the initiate embodied via the coniunctio, during his Red Book experiences and subsequent life. The urgent need to re-evaluate Jung’s Red Book achievement emerges from the widespread belief that the form of existence known as our technological civilisation is absolute and thus the coniunctio or opening up of radically new worlds is impossible.
