John’s therapeutic approach, “Psychotherapy with Depth”, gives a valuable depth perspective on our personal lives and on the world we live in. While acknowledging the importance of gaining some control and autonomy over our personal lives and difficulties, a depth perspective also helps us understand our place in the greater scheme of things. Our lives tend to be richer and more fulfilling when both aspects are addressed together.
Anita emphasises the practical skills every individual needs in order to flourish in relationship, from techniques to reduce anxiety to communication skills that help navigate conflict and cultivate intimacy.
Joint Couples Therapy
Anita and John work together seeing couples. We call this approach Joint Couples Therapy. We have worked out a compatible blend of depth psychotherapy and skills-based approaches to assist couples in distress. John brings his understanding of the deeper unconscious dynamics that determine a couple’s distress and Anita contributes a rich repertoire of skills, including CBT, ACT, Gottman training, and trauma work. We also approach couples work from a systems perspective. Together we bring many years of experience and training to our practice as Joint Couples Therapists.
